Maulana Muhammad Burahnuddin Qasmi*
Success is not always measured by the quantity, quality or desired achievements only, but success is also measured by the types of endeavour and innovation that one puts in work – which paves ways for others to march on the path of success, and build skyscrapers of different huge and muse for generations to come. Sometimes, one finds inspiration from his younger ones, feels pleased and blessed by the untiring strides of his follow-up people in the right directions. For all teachers in the world, their able students are like their hard-earned treasures, their pride and an un-shattering means of joys forever. Thus, Islam precisely describes ‘teaching is a means of Sadaqatul Jariyah’ – a never ending charity, here and hereafter.
Tameer Educational & Welfare Trust and Ad-Darain Education Centre are two comparatively nascent establishments in India’s City of Joy – #Kolkata in #WestBengal, which are gradually spearheaded by a dynamic and courageous young scholar – Maulana Abu Talha Jamal Qasmi. During my last edu-trip to #Assam and West Bengal, #Tameer and #Ad_Darain were my concluding explorations on 3rd and 4th December 2023. I have been frequent to Kolkata for the past at least two and half decades with varied purposes and for different academic meets. The senior functionaries of ‘Tameer Educational & Welfare Trust’ have been constantly in touch with me from the very early days, hence I am fairly aware about the steps taken and progress made in a very short span of time by Tameer and it’s offspring Ad-Darain Education Center in the domain of human welfare, in and around Kolkata. Notably the speed of work and taking up new challenges by the team Tameer is immensely pleasing. Due to my own limitedness in the recent trip, I could physically visit only a few of the activities carried out by the duo organizations in the field of education and child-upbringing through schools and Makatib, relief and charity, health-care and livelihood, physical fitness and sports etc.
The best thing I noticed was neither their multifarious work, nor the well-crafted and beautifully designed presentations, but to me, the most attractive and pleasingly noticeable thing at Tameer and Ad-Darain has been ‘the coming together of dedicated minds, presence of an untiring and enthusiastic team of male and females partners in mission, and an appealing comulgation of a group of academic people, religious scholars (ulama), corporate professionals under the umbrella of ‘Tameer’ – that is ‘to build’ the future with an aim to give something back to the ‘community’ and our loved country – India.
It is pleasing for me as well as all MMERCians that Maulana Abu Talha Jamal Qasmi is leading all those dozen plus socio-welfare and educational programmes as founder and executive head, Maulana Saleh Mubin Qasmi is assisting him being among one of the fulltime members of the workforce and Mufti Khubaib Aslam Qasmi Sb has been collaborating with the mission since its inception as and when required. Recently Maulana Habibullah Qasmi Sb has also joined the team. Thus four members of #MMERC#Mumbai alumni are working together with a number of other qualified and extremely zealous professional men and women both as enrolled workers as well as volunteers in Tameer and Ad-Darain. We know that the works, taken by the team ‘Tameer’ are just the beginnings – ‘miles to go before I sleep’, however, we are confident that this team would build skyscrapers like Burj Khalifa and innovate path-breakers like Qush Tepa in future for hundred others in the field of charity works, value-based education and health-care. We sincerely pray that the team remain healthy and united, the organisations are protected from untoward external influences and the blessings of Allah (swt) ever remain showering over all those who are directly or indirectly assisting in the mission of Tameer and Ad-Darain – Aameen!
